| The Celtic phenomenon Riverdance is a celebration of Irish music and dance boosting a touring company of 70 performers in this wildly popular Irish spectacle. The show has played more than 9,000 performances in 32 countries since making its debut in Dublin in 1995. The producers estimate that more than 19.3 million people have seen it and hinted this may be the final tour. The current performing companies are the Boyne company (North America), the Corrib company (Europe), and the Foyle company in Ireland every summer. Riverdance originally opened at the Point Theatre on February 9, 1995 and included Irish Dancing Champion Jean Butler and Michael Flatley. |
